Poor little Cooper got the chicken pox. He was such a trooper though. He hardly scratched at all except the ones in his hair. Luckily he wasn't very sick or feverish. All in all, he was very pitiful but I think he looked worse than he felt. I am glad he got this over with at an early age.

Cooper's first birthday was a big hit. Thanks to Grandma for all the creative ways she used the ducky theme. There were rubber duckies everywhere and they turned out so cute! Not pictured were also ducky shaped ice cream to go with the cake, not easy to make but it was well worth the effort. Cooper was such a good boy and enjoyed every minute of his party, no tears from this happy boy! He is very thankful for all who showed up and all of his nice gifts. What great families and friends little Cooper has!

Cooper is now one years old. He has reached some big milestones here lately. He has learned to stand on his own and shortly following he learned to take those first precious steps. May 19th was the big day. Only a week later and he can already walk across the living room and even turn and keep going. On his birthday we noticed that his first tooth had come in. Barely a little white showing through but it was there! No toothless baby for us anymore(we were getting a little concerned.....). Only a few days later there is that little tooth just sticking right out. It is just amazing how quickly everything seems to be happening. He'll be asking to borrow the car by the end of the week if he keeps up at this pace. Truly my little baby is growing up and it is sad and exciting at the same time. I loved holding him as a little infant but he as a toddler(can it be he is a toddler?????????) he makes me laugh and smile more than I thought ever possible. He is just the sweetest natured little guy, and I couldn't ask for any better of a son. We are so proud of our big boy!

Cooper is now ten months old. I have been slacking and I apologize to all the Cooper fans out there. He has started crawling and I can barely keep up with him! We have had visitors and we have gone to Tennessee. He started crawling on February 27th. Nine months and a few days old he figured it out. We are very proud of our sweet boy. He is not only crawling, but he is also pulling up on things, walking if he's holding our fingers(not so good with the balance quite yet), clapping, and just generally knows everything that is going on at this point. He loves to go out in public and stare at people and things. He really is a joy and we are incredibly blessed that he is so good natured.

Cooper is growing up before my eyes. It is funny how you think you know what people mean when they tell you that it goes by so fast, but witnessing it first hand is unbelievable. I am so amazed at what he learns everyday. He is up on all fours now, eight months old. At the beginning of the week he got up once, then the next day maybe twice. Now just under a week he is a little pro doing it all the time. It is just really neat to be a mommy, more and more everyday. He said da da first. We know he doesnt know what it means yet, but Brett is very happy about it. And so am I, for awhile there I thought he may just scream at me forever, but he finally started babbling goo goo and all the rest that somes with that. No ma ma yet, but it will come. He really is the sweetest, best natured baby and I am truly grateful for that.

It was Cooper's first Christmas with the Petty clan in Charlotte. For those of you not in the know, The Petty family has a Christmas party every year. The children are given stockings stuffed by all of the aunts and uncles. This has been going on my whole life and then some I assume. Needless to say I was terribly excited that I, I mean Cooper, was getting a stocking this year! Cooper had a great time and played until he was almost asleep sitting up. Boy was it hard to wrangle all of those kids for a picture!

Cooper is so lucky to have such a wonderful family. He really loved meeting Bushi & Grampa. We visited Grampa at the hospital and boy does he have a big group visiting! This was Cooper's first Thanksgiving and he was a fan of the mashed potatoes. Gretchen and Bushi look like they have their hands full!!!

Cooper had a really great time in Michigan. He really loved the whole family, and I am pretty sure he made a good impression on them too. Cooper really enjoyed his cousin Alec's toys. He really appreciated Alec letting him borrow these things. And Cooper can always count on Aunt DeeDee to pinch those cheeks! Daddy, are you trying to tell him where the big fish are allready????

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated. Cooper and working full time really is hard work. I will definately try harder to keep things updated better from now on.

On to what has been going on. Poor Cooper had a respiratory infection. Thankfully MaMaw was in town to help out. He had to use a nebulizer which is a machine that puts out a vapor through this little mask Cooper is wearing. As you can see he was a little trooper about the whole thing. And of course what was the first thing he did? Tried to eat the steam.

Molly and Brian's wedding was Cooper first wedding. You can see what Cooper did the entire time.....We all thought Molly looked very pretty and hope that Molly and Brian have a wonderful life together.

Oktoberfest 2008

Brett's friend from when he was young, Todd and his wife, Linda and their cute little boy, Carter came to visit us and we all went to Oktoberfest in Helen Georgia. This town is all things German and was very fun. There were all kinds of little shops to go to and of course the German food.

Cooper ate his first meal at 4 months old. He had rice cereal and bananas. He wasn't real sure what he thought about it at first, but soon came around. Carrots were more happily received!

Cooper made it to 4 months old weighing in at 16 pounds. He was 25 inches and cute as can be! He is really coming to life, laughing and smiling at us. He sits in the big boy part of his stroller now, and is finally noticing Chevy now! He slao always lights up when Daddy comes home and of course he loves Mommy too.

Cooper is now three moths old. The time has just really gotten away from me.Sorry for the delay getting new pictures up. Cooper and Chevy are still big buddies. Cooper is starting to really play with his toys now. He loves putting things in his mouth. He actually just likes to lick things, putting them in his mouth is still a bit of a challenge. He is going to daycare now, it seems like he is happy there. He had his first cold the first week there. He was over it in three days, I got it from him and had it for over two weeks. Being back at work is hard because I miss him so much, but the weekends are just wonderful being spent with him and seeing how much he is growing everyday.

Cooper is now 2 months old. He weighs in at twelve pounds and 2 ounces now and is 22 3/4 inches long. He smiles all the time now and has recently realized how good his fingers taste. He is just licking them for now but I believe he will figure out they can go in his mouth any day now. He has also learned to put his little hands together and he thinks that is very funny. Things are going great although he still doesn't sleep through the night yet. He has on occasion slept for five hours straight and Mommy thinks that is wonderful! He was a very brave boy when he got his shots, just a little scream and a little fuss, by the time I picked him up he had allready forgotten about them. Of course Mommy didn't get over it that easily, but maybe I can be brave like him next time.

We had a wonderful fourth of July. First we spent time at the creek with the Petty family. Then we rounded out the weekend with spending time at the Martin household. It was great to see family and friends alike. We are so proud to show off our sweet little Cooper!

Cooper is growing so fast on me! He weighs in at 10 pounds and 4 ounces and is 21 inches long now. He is becoming more and more alert and really likes to look at things other than the lights now. He grabs hold of Mommy's hair and our shirt collars and there is a hint of a smile when we talk to him. Not quite there but expect to see his first smile soon!

Daddy figured out how to hold Cooper and still play his video games. It was a happy day for all! We went to eat at Fudd Ruckers and enjoyed a day of strolling around the mall. It was Cooper's first real outing and he slept through it all.

Martin Family

The Martin family is composed of Brett, Christina & little dog Chevy. We are awaiting our first baby, a boy! We are all excited, hopefully Chevy will still be excited once he actually realizes why mommy's tummy is getting so big.
We live in Powder Springs, GA, just ouside of Atlanta. We moved here in January of 2007 for Brett's job and we are still trying to get used to living here. Brett is a supervisor at a concrete plant that builds beams that support bridges. I work at a law firm in the accounting department. Chevy holds the fort down at the house we are renting.
At this point we are just trying to get as prepared for baby as we can be. Hopefully we can decide on his name by the time he gets here. It has changed a few times allready. He will be the first grandchild on the Martin side of the family and the fifth on the Sage side.Everyone is so very happy and excited there is no doubt the little one will be loved. And hopefully no one forgets little Chevy, our first granddoggy on both sides!
